When one thing doesn’t work, we do other stuff.

Injured Workers are so heavily infiltrated by industry peeps, and drug-crazed long-term victims of the industry spewing helpless and hopeless nonsense, Jonestown style, so the hope for the millions of Americans being destroyed by WorkCompsters and the related agencies and industries seems grim indeed.  Most are unable/unwilling to learn to blog and fight the known corruption to save their own lives.  Their ‘peers’ batter them into submission to remain quiet and hope for change.  It’s vicious, indeed.

Some of the ‘other stuff’ I am still looking into, on your behalf, is how to best create eCourses and get eBooks done.  As mentioned recently on LinkedIn, I found a compassionate editor to help take both the eCourses and eBooks forward, to the next steps.  I continue to study social media, to the best of my abilities, in my own efforts at ‘vocational rehabilitation.’

The recent SUCCESS Magazine on the YouEconomy presents the most hope I’ve seen in the world of business in a while. I think the YouEconomy has the full potential to obliterate the entire WorkComp industries… Well, we can hope on that count!

Step 1 — 10 points – I showed up live at 11 to the Passive Income Lounge; calendar marked to be there tomorrow, too.

Step 2 – 10 points – My eCourse topic is WorkComp Survival and Virtual Combat Skills

 

The Select Your Topic action was clarifying and confirming/personally validating.

 

The “Validate My Idea” exercise was real powerful, and had me smiling.

On UDEMY WorkComp had NO matches, but I did discover two courses:

1) Introduction to Workers Compensation Surveillance by a private investigator [ a horrible and harsh reality of the practices of WorkComp in America, Canada, UK and Australia….]

2) VA Fully Developed Disability Claims – ‘incapacitation’ is the military equivalent of WorkComp… and it looks like a soldier developed that 6 section curriculum, with a very left-brain military organizational structure. I may have to study that! 😀

2) Amazon had 2,654 books on WorkComp; it had 6,330 books for Injured Workers mostly written by attorneys, but a few that touched on Survival, written by other Injured Workers — most were written a few years ago, and some were had introductions by attorneys… none of those were sugar-coated. Most of the books seemed to be ‘industry propaganda’ but I even found one by a former WorkComp commissioner … spilling the beans on the atrocities…and offering some solutions.

That was a totally cool exercise. I also found my log in to your eCourse that I purchased how long ago?

I even posted a couple related thoughts on LinkedIn (they know me in the WorkComp community there; I am one of just a couple of Injured Worker BLOGGERS in the USA… I also want to do an eCourse on BEGINNING TO BLOG….so that Human Rights and Civil Rights activists can better harness the power of social media.

“WE ARE THE MEDIA NOW” is a little slogan/meme I have used for years… it fits. 😀

And below are images of how far I got so far in creating a course… I would welcome feedback on which is more inviting, considering that most Injured Workers in America are being seriously abused by a system that intends only harm, and many feel (and are!) quite dis-empowered.. and hope is a long forgotten emotion for too many.

Anybody hurt on the job or in the industry knows that a Work Place Injury can be career altering or career and life destroying.

Some questions to ask about WorkComp Safety Programs and Workers Compensation Insurance coverage and practices can be reviewed below.

Is being informed about the details of workers compensation and long term disability insurance coverage really any different than knowing about the medical, dental, vision, vacation or 401(k) ‘benefits’?

IF EMPLOYEES AND PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES DO THEIR DUE DILIGENCE BEFORE ANY INJURY, AND KNOW THE WORKPLACE PROCEDURES TO FOLLOW IN THE UNFORESEEN EVENT OF A WORKPLACE INJURY, MINOR OR CATASTROPHIC, BETTER OUTCOMES FOR ALL CONCERNED MAY TAKE PLACE.

How many Human Resources professionals are totally out of touch with the WorkComp processes and do nothing but hinder efforts for an injured worker to get medical care and benefits.  How few even send a get well card or say, “Feel Better. We hope you’re back to work soon.”  HOW FEW?

How many tell an injured worker, “Sorry, the legal department says we cannot talk to you or help you in any way.”  HOW MANY?

Hi Linda,
My suggestions: From Day 1 – (If I had it to do all over again)
1. Buy a file cabinet (or empty one) for work comp, you’re going to need it.
2. Always ask for and receive copies of all Dr visit reports, and file every report. If they aren’t accurate – Demand they change them, or send a letter to correct the record and insist it be attached to the file.
3. File and save Every communication you receive from the insurance company.
4. Keep track of all mileage and medical expenses and submit for re-imbursement on the form provided at insurance company website. If items are not re-imbursed within 45 days, re-submit until they are.
5. Do not allow Drs to delay requesting needed MRI’s / CT scans / xrays  – They don’t request so they can continue to charge insurance & medicate patient, only. (If Dr will not request / demand needed testing – FIRE them and find another who will)
6. Do Not fall for the attorney lie….”You just concentrate on getting well and I will handle everything else.” Be active in your case, if your lawyer will not (within reason) communicate / update you – Get rid of him/her. They are doing you more harm than good.
7. Fight for the treatment you need, before it’s too late to correctly fix the problems from your workplace injury.
8. Call, visit, email, your political representatives and make (public) NOISE when they ignore your requests for assistance. If they are not helping you, they are NOT representing you. (That is what they are being paid to do.)

I could probably write a book on this subject but these are my starter points.

PS…I would NOT recommend asking prospective employer about their work comp practices, as it may appear a person is looking for a place to commit workplace injury fraud, which puts the injured worker at risk of attack from day one of injury. (Every lawyer should know that.)

An attorney did also respond [SEE ABOVE]  and said asking about a prospective employer’s safety program would be more desirable than asking about their work comp and Long term disability insurance carriers. I extended thanks and said it was duly noted and would be incorporated.

While I understand and respect your opinion and the attorney’s on that issue…I think getting the facts before they are needed is key to breaking the strangle hold of the intimidation and secrecy that perpetuates WorkComp fraud and abuses and hyper corruption.

In fact, I think the question begs to be asked and can be included as simply as inquiring about heath, dental and vision insurance and 401(k) contributions, particularly in light of the ongoing National Discussions on Worker’s Compensation.

[Draw your own conclusions and keep copies of everything you share and if you don’t have your own blog yet, let’s get right to it.]

Watch out for those pretending to give a hoot about you and your story…. if they can offer no suggestions for actions, that should be a red flag to you. If they discourage you at every step you take, that should be a red flag to you.
Even in some injured worker group I have seen people try to discourage people from taking action, complaining that nothing has worked for them over the years. Perhaps it’s a content and strategy issue?
If they destroy every opportunity to incite communications and change, THAT SHOULD BE BELLS AND WHISTLES AND A RED FLAG TO YOU.
Beware of people ‘out there’ and ‘in here’ who will attempt to discourage you from saving your own life and finding way to get out of the system.
If it talks like a troll, acts like a troll..it’s probably A TROLL.

Some are so full of themselves, that they knowingly destroy open communications with, for example, the Investigative Journalists of ProPublica and NPR, as well as TV investigative journalists.
Sadly, I included a such few people in some private LinkedIn threads with such reporters in hopes of forging links of further communications.

Those certain initially referenced  individuals destroyed the opportunity for meaningful interaction with those professionals AGAIN with insane rants, totally off topic, and concluded with saying they were going to seek legal action against me for inviting people to share their workcomp story with me without having provided a complete business plan on how I would be able to sort the stories, get them rendered anonymous, edited, published and shared around the globe.

Not all stories submitted would make the cut, but as previously stated, all stories are being prayerfully and conscientiously considered while I seek experts to help put a book together. .
In light of these current threats — the eBook goes on the back burner till I feel like dealing with it again. WorkComp strugles are for the long haul… if you have shared your story with WorkCompLinda, be assured, it is safe. If you haven’t and want to, take a break and answer the questions.
The questions are to guide the story and like one of the ProPublica Reporters said on a podcast… it’s a real drag to do injured workers stories because they go on and on and on and make little sense. Part of that is surely consequences of being a POW and some Stockholm Syndrome.
It, however, IS NOT CONDUCIVE TO INCREASING COMMUNITY AWARENESS.
Only a troll would make such threats and use a professional thread to disparage me, in my humble opinion, and send private messages about how cool it is when industry bloggers demean and disparage injured workers…yet they speak the truth on some other things.

Only a troll member would back it up, and make all injured workers look like drug addicted incoherent idiots. Can’t fix stupid, truly you cannot.
The funniest part is, their submitted stories made as little sense as their destructive off-topic rants on the threads.
So, my story is already out there,and because of that, in part, the parties in my case “reached resolution subject to a confidentiality agreement”

It’s a loss for all of us, and I take full responsibility for having not have the good sense to leave them out of the conversations.
I truly believed they had Injured Worker’s interests at heart, and some people, sadly, are just too damaged by the system, or they are simply paid trolls. It doesn’t really matter which they are—their results are the same.

The situations are self-correcting now.
On the brighter side, the parties involved in the thread attack must have forgotten the audience of the threads, so now they are widely known by a small group of investigative reports as another ‘crazed attacker’ of yours truly. Funny how karma works, huh? Give ’em enough rope and they….

1. Investigate and prosecute government paid civil servants and officials complicit in directly or indirectly causing egregious harm to injured workers and other taxpayers by breach of oath of office?

2. Send in the National Guard to protect injured workers and other tax payers from further egregious harm while dismantling Workers Compensation and related entities, public and private?

3. Immediately establish a Civil Rights Commission dedicated to further investigations of allegations of fraud, collusion and other crimes against humanity?

Anything about getting legit medical care and disability benefits?

How about ways and means to settle existing work comp cases?

How about triage efforts to stop the ‘hemorrhaging’ of newly injured workers?

Does the ‘new immigration reform’ exist to further feed the WorkCompsters and what protections can be demanded to protect the ..500,000,000 new immigrants?

What demands can be made to protect non-English speaking workers?

What demands can be made to ensure proper and competent legal representation without penalties for dismissing idiot attorneys?

What can be demanded about restorations of civil and human rights to all injured Workers?
