What do you think about teaching Injured Workers, represented and unrepresented, how to maximize use of Social Media to ensure “immediate, appropriate and necessary medical care and benefits” in a workplace injury, and documentation of the process, including a pipeline to sound the alarms when actions by professionals, medical/legal/bureacrats seems questionable, at best.
Currently, Injured Workers appear to have no Civil Rights or Human Rights and the industry profiteers have no apparent interest in doing anything that might disrupt the extreme profits of an extremely vile industry.

Are you a defense firm that has incorrigible adjusters and inexperienced attorneys increasing risks for your firm and clients and think that a good social media program on both sides could mitigate file churning and med-legal fraud?
Are you a HR professional who believes you cannot even send a get well card to an injured worker and you are afraid of litigation because of the wrongs you observe? What if your company has an in-place social media platform, and even a group for your Injured Workers to convene and yes, even compare notes on the various doctors, lawyers and treatments. The brokerage community has been successful for many years in steering the fraud debate towards the most minuscule part of fraud: injured workers; a segment of the fraud population that is so small that insurance companies comically seek big attention for thwarting a criminal act that typically does not amount to more than $10,000 in damage.
Where is the outcry, however, when brokers suck $4 billion out of a system on clever reinsurance chicanery (see our various stories and articles on Unicover) so they can make a half-billion dollars in fees? Why isn’t the Employer’s Fraud Task Force and other self-appointed overseers of malicious intent and do-gooders directing their energies towards identification of the white collar criminals guilty of bid rigging? Injured Workers are so heavily infiltrated by industry peeps, and drug-crazed long-term victims of the industry spewing helpless and hopeless nonsense, Jonestown style, so the hope for the millions of Americans being destroyed by WorkCompsters and the related agencies and industries seems grim indeed. Most are unable/unwilling to learn to blog and fight the known corruption to save their own lives. Their ‘peers’ batter them into submission to remain quiet and hope for change. It’s vicious, indeed.
Some of the ‘other stuff’ I am still looking into, on your behalf, is how to best create eCourses and get eBooks done. As mentioned recently on LinkedIn, I found a compassionate editor to help take both the eCourses and eBooks forward, to the next steps. I continue to study social media, to the best of my abilities, in my own efforts at ‘vocational rehabilitation.’
The recent SUCCESS Magazine on the YouEconomy presents the most hope I’ve seen in the world of business in a while. I think the YouEconomy has the full potential to obliterate the entire WorkComp industries… Well, we can hope on that count!

She is using the new FB video real time chat, a downloadable workbook, and a private FB group…. real “Today” stuff.
I thought some of you might enjoy/appreciate the STEPS from Day One…. If possible, I’ll post all SevenDays Steps…
You can probably still join in, if it’s of interest. We’re supposed to post in the group by the end of the day, and repeat process for all 7 days.

Step 2 – 10 points – My eCourse topic is WorkComp Survival and Virtual Combat Skills
The Select Your Topic action was clarifying and confirming/personally validating.
The “Validate My Idea” exercise was real powerful, and had me smiling.
On UDEMY WorkComp had NO matches, but I did discover two courses:
1) Introduction to Workers Compensation Surveillance by a private investigator [ a horrible and harsh reality of the practices of WorkComp in America, Canada, UK and Australia….]
2) VA Fully Developed Disability Claims – ‘incapacitation’ is the military equivalent of WorkComp… and it looks like a soldier developed that 6 section curriculum, with a very left-brain military organizational structure. I may have to study that! 😀
2) Amazon had 2,654 books on WorkComp; it had 6,330 books for Injured Workers mostly written by attorneys, but a few that touched on Survival, written by other Injured Workers — most were written a few years ago, and some were had introductions by attorneys… none of those were sugar-coated. Most of the books seemed to be ‘industry propaganda’ but I even found one by a former WorkComp commissioner … spilling the beans on the atrocities…and offering some solutions.
That was a totally cool exercise. I also found my log in to your eCourse that I purchased how long ago?
I even posted a couple related thoughts on LinkedIn (they know me in the WorkComp community there; I am one of just a couple of Injured Worker BLOGGERS in the USA… I also want to do an eCourse on BEGINNING TO BLOG….so that Human Rights and Civil Rights activists can better harness the power of social media.
“WE ARE THE MEDIA NOW” is a little slogan/meme I have used for years… it fits. 😀
And below are images of how far I got so far in creating a course… I would welcome feedback on which is more inviting, considering that most Injured Workers in America are being seriously abused by a system that intends only harm, and many feel (and are!) quite dis-empowered.. and hope is a long forgotten emotion for too many.

Now I are a not-employed disabled Writer/Blogger/Boomer, #WorkComp and #TBI#Concussion Survivor and Advocate for Injured Workers across America and beyond, a Southern California Rad-Survivor and still a friend of Lucy Occupy & Friends, and still an advocate that we #OccupyVirtually and #DodgeTheRads!
(WorkComp made it easier to #ShelterInPlace since the principle treatment was ‘rest and wait and wait and wait and wait and evaluate’ etc., and for that, I AM GRATEFUL.)
Revising my resume is on that darn list of things to do that gets bigger, not smaller, every day in every way!

Fortunately for me, ‘the parties reached resolution, subject to confidentiality agreement’ late last year, with a few loose ends, so now I begin to rebuild my broken life.

I got to blog for 4 years straight, sometimes 24/7 when I couldn’t sleep, and other days/weeks all I could do was sleep…and #ShelterInPlace because of the workcomp system and practices, and for that, I am grateful. Editing can be an extreme challenge with brain injury….
Since ‘resolution’ of my case, I have secured more medical assistance and on-going wholistic care, and I am experiencing measurable improvements. “Fight or Flight” plays havoc with body systems, and the BRAIN controls all body systems.
I asked one doctor recently if I might be ‘fooling myself’ to think I may be able to return to some sort of gainful employment one day. (One doctor last year said I need to make plans for Assisted living in the not distant future! Yikes!) The new doctor gently suggested that I just keep doing what I’m doing, and see how health matters unfold this year. I told him I’m studying Social Media strategies and he smiled and said, ‘That’s nice. Don’t spend too much on learning such complicated things.’ 😀 (Without some executive functions, the nuances of social media can sometimes fly right over my head!)
If you get a brain injury, BE A SMART PATIENT. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, and ask friends to help you. It’s dangerous out there!

Note the political representatives and others who have gone on record as being quite concerned about Workers Compensation in America. Many WorkCompsters call such stories ‘hyperbole’…. Many Many Injured Workers know the extreme harsh realities of the atroacities of America’s Workers Compensation systems.
“WorkComp is a slow kill – Rads are a sure kill.” See who else is demanding investigations about nuclear programs as well…. The similarities? Connect the dots! BOTH INDUSTRIES, WORK COMP AND NUCLEAR, Operate from the PlayBook of “PROFITS BEFORE LIVES”…. Who else isn’t doing their job? Who has broken their Oath?

Allow me to start a few rumors here and there!
Have you heard that 2016 CompLaude Awards will expand the international scope, and part of the price of exhibiting next year will be for each vendor to SPONSOR AND BRING AN INJURED WORKER to the event?
More of the rumor suggested that a portion of all entrance fees will be allocated for additional sponsorship of Injured Workers, across the USA, from Canada, from the UK, and from Australia, for starters to ensure a wide attendance from the Injured Worker populations. Will there really be injured workers from around the world attending WorkCompCentral’s CompLaude Awards?
More of the rumors suggest that a social media group called “COMP LAUDE 2016” will encourage Injured Workers to join–on LinkedIn, Facebook, Google Circles and more. Some say there will be a swath of Social Media Groups like CompLaude – California, CompLaude -New York, CompLaude – Florida, CompLaude USA, CompLaude Canada, CompLaude UK, CompLaude Australia, CompLaude Japan
Some more law-oriented groups are said to be planning WorkCompCongressional Letters groups, state by state, channeling information to a Congressional Task Force on Workers Compensation in the USA. Canada, UK and Australia will do similar ‘virtual events.’
During the coming year, those who profit by the WorkComp industries can be proactive and get to know what really happens to Injured Workers, at least in America, for starters, in these virtual groups. There will be an increase in attendance at the various industry ‘conferences’ (at all those swanky joints!) by an outreach to the Injured Workers in each state.
The InProPer population of Injured Workers needs further investigation by the various state Bars. Exit interviews will be conducted at Settlement Hearings, and fees for attorneys who do their jobs and properly represent injured workers will be rewarded with increased fees, while those attorneys who fail their clients will forfeit blanket liens, and will stand in line with other lien holders. Injured Workers seldom “choose” to self-represent, but do so after multiple failures in retaining competent legal counsel.
The biggest rumor of all is that a Congressional Task Force, including members from the Department of Labor, Department of Justice and WorkComp commissions, along with EEOC, EDD, SSA and ADA will commence investigations in every state of the land, and go beyond “studies” to solutions! WorkComp Congressional Letters will become household words!
Bravo to those teams as well! And to the courageous injured workers who did not remain silent!
The truth is ugly indeed. May all people remember that, as Dr. Martin Luther King reminded us, ‘Everything Hitler did in Germany was legal’ …. Till Nuremburg.

I am delighted to have learned that some of my nominees made it to the semi-finals and finals! It was not easy coming up with nominees for this event, not easy at all!
In the new year, I hope to offer a course on Udemy.com called SURVIVING WORK COMP, with an audience of ‘all workers everywhere.’ WorkComp has facilitated an opportunity for me to learn more about social media, and I am learning to make videos. I made it more than 45 years of working for a few very powerful captains of industry, real estate and timeshare, without experiencing the tragic consequences of a work injury in California –until 2012. Over the course, I have been able to speak with many ‘industry experts’ and with many egregiously harmed injured workers across the nation and beyond.
What I know for sure is: The only sure way for a worker to survive WorkComp unharmed is NEVER GET INJURED ON THE JOB.
